Safety

Frank C. Alegre Trucking, Inc. with its continued efforts in safety training, has been recognized by Liberty Mutual Insurance a world-wide insurance company, from 1996 through 1999 for its tremendous safety record within the trucking industry. In 1996, Alegre Trucking had a frequency of .148 accidents per vehicle. In 1997, the safety record improved even more to a reduced frequency of .118. and in 1998, their safety record was at .014%. 

Frank C. Alegre Trucking, Inc. actively promotes safety within the shop by sponsoring "safety bingo" and among the drivers by providing monthly safety awards to drivers of each division.  In 2006 $4,300.00 was allocated to the drivers' monthly safety program. In  2007 the drivers earned $4,800.00 in the drivers' monthly safety program, in 2008 they earned $5,700.00 and in 2009 they earned $7,900.00.   So far in 2010 the drivers have earned $800.00 in the monthly safety program. 

We are also experimenting with the New Eaton Vorad System.  This system alerts drivers of cars within 200 feet of the truck and in blind spots.
